IMU Attended the Forum on International Exchanges in Education under the Road and Belt Initiative
and the Inaugural Meeting of the Division of International Exchanges
in Education under the Road and Belt Initiative of the China Education Association for International Exchange
On December 21-23, 2019, Prof. Erhenbayar, vice president of IMU and Prof. Duan Manfu from the Division of International Cooperation and Exchange of IMU, attended the Forum on International Exchanges in Education under the Road and Belt Initiative and the Inaugural Meeting of the Division of International Exchanges in Education under the Road and Belt Initiative of the China Education Association for International Exchange held at Fudan University.
The Forum on International Exchanges in Education under the Road and Belt Initiative was kicked off on December 21 in the afternoon at Fudan University. Representatives of institutions of higher education, elementary education and vocational education with brilliant accomplishments in their practices in promoting education under the Road and Belt Initiative assembled together to consult international cooperation and exchanges in education under the Road and Belt Initiative and ways of going global for China’s education. As the representative of institutions of higher education, Prof. Erhenbayar delivered a keynote speech entitled The International Cooperation and Exchanges of Inner Mongolia University against the Backdrop of the Road and Belt Initiative: Practices and Reflections to outline the role IMU had played in contributing to the Road and Belt Initiative and the reflections thereof.
The inaugural meeting of the Division of International Exchanges in Education under the Road and Belt Initiative of the China Education Association for International Exchange was held at Fudan University on the 22nd in the morning. The aim of the Division was to promote the process of global-going of China’s education and further enhance the clout and leading position of China’s education in the world. Attached to the China Education Association for International Exchange, the Division is a national-level non-profit organization consisting of educational institutions committed to international exchanges in education under the Road and Belt Initiative on a voluntary basis. The directors, chairperson, vice chairpersons and secretary-general of the 1st Council were elected at the inaugural meeting. IMU was elected as an assistant directing unit and Prof. Erhenbayar as a vice chairperson of the Council. A function-oriented CPC Party Branch of the Division was set up, and the working procedures and plans were examined and discussed over at the meeting, which laid a foundation for the smooth operation of the Division in the future.
The Division of International Exchanges in Education under the Road and Belt Initiative aims at promoting information sharing in international exchanges in education, making use of complimentary advantages, coordinating actions, better advancing and enlarging cultural exchanges, enhancing win-win cooperation in education, collaborated training of human resources, forging more solid cultural cornerstones of people-to-people communications, advancing the construction of educational community under the framework of the Road and Belt Initiative, and jointly upgrading the internationalization of education and the capability in serving the Road and Belt Initiative; integrating the advantages of resources of the disciplines, specialties and partners of educational institutions of higher, vocational and elementary education both at home and from abroad, coordinating their strengths, forging a large platform for promoting international cooperation in education under the Road and Belt Initiative, and contributing to the development of the world’s education with China’s wisdom and China’s plan; building a platform for the exchanges and sharing of information among all parties, and creating a healthy interaction of mutual promotion between education and development.
