On December 14, 2019 in the afternoon, Mr. Imeev Vladimir, vice president of the Kalmykia State University of Russia, Ms. Dzhimbeeva Lolita, the Russian director of the Confucius Institute and Mr. Zhao Yong, the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute, arrived at IMU to attend the Inner Mongolia University—Kalmykia State University Working Conference of the Council of the Confucius Institute. Prof. Erhenbayar, vice president of IMU, Prof. Duan Manfu, vice director of the Division of International Cooperation and Exchange, Prof. Baiyinmend, director of the Mongolian Studies Center, Prof. Li Manliang, principal of the Foreign Languages Colleges, Prof. Li Chuanjin (interpreter), vice principal of the Foreign Languages College, Prof. Wu Yingzhe, vice principal of the School of Mongolian Studies, Prof. Wang Fengzheng, vice principal of the School of Economics and Management, Ms. Sun Guiling, vice director of the Division of International Cooperation and Exchange and Prof. Zhang Jingde, director of the Discipline Construction Office of the School of Economics and Management attended the conference. Prof. Duan Manfu, vice director of the Division of International Cooperation and Exchange of IMU, presided over the conference.
Prof. Erhenbayar, vice president of IMU, extended warm welcome to the guests and fully acknowledged the achievements of the Confucius Institute since its founding. Under the direct leadership of the headquarters of the Confucius Institute and with the energetic support of the Kalmykia State University of Russia and the concerted efforts of both sides, the Confucius Institute jointly built by IMU and the Kalmykia State University has gone through years of construction and development with its operation on the right track in an orderly manner, which laid a solid foundation for the cooperation between the two universities. In his speech, Prof. Erhenbayar gave constructive suggestions for the future plans of development and construction of the Confucius Institute and expressed his wishes that the two sides carry out cooperation in other disciplinary fields more extensively and intensively on the platform of the Confucius Institute jointly built by the two universities.
Mr. Imeev Vladimir, vice president of the Kalmykia State University delivered a reciprocal speech at the conference. He introduced the present situation of the Confucius Institute, its accomplishments and plans and proposals for future development, expressed his gratitude for IMU’s support since the beginning of the cooperation between the two sides, and stated his wishes for more cooperation in scientific research, teaching and other fields between the two universities.
Mr. Zhao Yong, the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute, gave a detailed report on the organization, faculty building, institution building, self-appraisal, teaching of Chinese, future plans, works done in the past years and problems arising in the process.
The two sides fully affirmed the achievements made in academic exchanges and cooperation, exchanges of students and seeking of collaborative projects since the establishment of partnership in academic exchanges and cooperation and expressed intention for further cooperation and exchanges on a higher level in the future.
